Shocking News: People in Blue States Vote for Democrats

It is always better when you sit back for a while after a big event like the elections on November 4th before absorbing the aftermath. It is fun to read “sophisticated” political analysts give their instant dissection of what has occurred and then they tell us what the future holds as they bring out their crystal balls and forecast the future. As usual, so many are wrong.

Briefly, here is the reality. There was voting held in areas overwhelmingly populated by Democrats and they won the elections and the ballot initiatives. What would have been earthshattering is if a Republican won. In New York City, the big race, a person who ran as a Democrat, but is really a Socialist, beat the Left-wing Democrat who calls himself a Democrat. Not an earthquake; not even a tremor.

Here is the other big news. Democrats and left-leaning people really dislike President Trump. He is the root of all evil. All their candidates ran against Trump, remaining silent about what they are really aiming to do. Only the fake Democrat (you know — the Socialist) told us what he wants to do, but we have come to find out most of what he wants to do is beyond his control as mayor and/or he does not have the money. For example, where is he going to get the estimated $750 million needed for free bus rides? It is not coming from Washington. Joe Biden is no longer President.

Something that those in the legacy press did not tell you: in this century, the governors of New Jersey and Virginia have almost exclusively been elected from the party opposite of the president elected the prior year. That is because in the first year of the new presidential term they try to enact their most aggressive policies. That upsets a lot of people and whatever the intended benefits have often not taken hold. Think about it, would you rather risk rattling the people in two states or the other 48 in the mid-term elections? Thus, the election of the Dems in NJ and VA was almost baked in the cake.

Here is a fun fact: Democrats registration is 860,000 (used to be 1,100,000) more than Republicans in New Jersey in a state with total population of about 9.5 million. That is why when Republicans in New Jersey and Virginia won the Governorship they rarely won down ballot races and never the legislature.

The Democrats have grabbed on to an issue that they think is a winner – “affordability.” The problem is when their political opposition figures out that it is the Democrats who created the lack of affordability, the argument will be turned around on them.

The issue exploded during the Biden Administration when they spent (wasted) enormous amounts of money and expanded the money supply (aided by the Fed’s Jerome Powell) which drove us to inflation levels not seen in fifty years. The inflation rate has been brought under control but the prices for life’s basic essentials have not come down. Gasoline is less expensive than it was before the pandemic. It is taking a little while for the other prices to settle at more acceptable levels.

Then there are energy costs which were driven up the Democrats’ folly with “renewables.” Of course, that did not include reliable nuclear energy which they largely canceled. They won in New Jersey despite the policies of incumbent Governor Phil Murphy, who single-handedly drove up energy costs to nearly the highest in the nations. So much for arguing for affordability when you cause the lack of it.

The big one of the affordability issues is health care. The Democrats are trying to hang this on Republicans despite it being called “OBAMACARE.”
Let us see who designed this system? All those failed promises (or should we call these lies) were told to us and they have discovered that Obama created a system with out-of-control costs. And who was Obama really in bed with and who is getting fat and sassy on the fund transfers from the American government –insurance companies. You may recall the economically illiterate leaders of the AARP endorsed Obamacare because they make lots of money on health insurance.

Yet the Democrats shut down the government so they can continue handing out more money to further bankrupt the country, in this case for people way above the poverty line. So much for affordability when you caused the lack of affordability in the first place.

In New York, Democrats (or should I say Socialists) argue that housing costs are out of control despite having rent control in place since 1943. The proposed rent freeze will only cause more units to be taken off the market than the already estimated 50,000-60,000 currently out of inventory because the owners cannot afford the price of having a tenant. The baffling argument made here is for free childcare when over 50% of people who live in Manhattan are single with no intention of getting married, much less having children. Then there are the free bus rides. Give that three months and few Mandami voters will chance their lives riding on those free buses, now taken over by homeless folks. So much for affordability when you caused the lack of affordability in the first place.

Don’t take my word for it, here is what U.S. News found. They show nine of the 10 most expensive states are either blue or purple states. All 10 of the lowest cost states are red. The Blue states are more expensive largely because of public policy. They have expensive green energy mandates, higher housing costs because of rent control policy, higher taxes to pay for all this, higher minimum wages to pay for all these expensive policies, unionized control especially by public employee unions, and significantly more government regulations on the people who create the revenues that produce the taxes that pays for all these follies.

Proof they are the source of the lack of affordability. Why would we trust them to cure it? Their cures are just more government regulations.

The shocking news is that the party that tried to convince us they are the “righteous” party would not disavow the odious Jay Jones and elected him to be attorney general of Virginia. Maybe he will not advocate for the murder of any more political opponents or their children, but you can bet that in four years he will be running for Governor as the current one will be termed out.

On the other hand, we can look forward to 2028 and Gallivanting Gavin, the new favorite for the Democrats to be their presidential nominee. He will win several states big. California, Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts, Colorado, New Mexico, Connecticut, New Jersey, Hawaii, New York, Vermont, and Virginia. Fat chance after that.

Fret not unless you are part of the diminishing class of mainstream Democrats.
